As an early supporter of Blu-ray, we were instrumental in enabling most of the first Blu-ray players to market. For the first time, consumers were able to enjoy the highest-quality high-definition movies in their homes, setting new standards for audio and video quality.
The Blu-ray player market is continually offering new features, including:
New features coming shortly include:
Our family of architecture-compatible Secure Media Processors optimized for Blu-ray player applications, complete Blu-ray player SDK, and wide variety of reference designs enable fast development of a mainstream or premium Blu-ray player with a wide variety of feature options:
We can also assist in integrating Blu-ray player functionality into a HTIB (Home Theater In a Box), AV receiver, or media player.

The SMP8646 provides a highly-integrated, high-performance, cost-effective solution for mainstream Blu-ray players, premium media players, and cable/IPTV set-top boxes.

The SMP8644 provides a highly-integrated, high-performance, cost-effective solution for premium Blu-ray players using our VXP® Video Processor, cable/IPTV gateways, and cable/IPTV set-top boxes.

The GF9452 offers two channels of professional grade adaptive deinterlacing, adaptive 3D noise reduction, mosquito noise reduction, block artifact reduction, adaptive detail enhancement, and adaptive contrast enhancement.

The SD3402 represents the fourth-generation of Z-Wave® single-chip wireless technology, and is ideal for easily adding Z-Wave® control and status capabilities to RF remote controls, set-top boxes, and CE products. Integration of the SD3402 into set-top boxes also adds the ability for cable and IPTV service providers to offer home security monitoring and home energy management services.
Our development kits and reference designs enable the rapid development of a mainstream or premium Blu-ray player with a wide variety of feature options, or choose a production model from one of our ODM partners.

The Blu-ray 8644VXP development kit addresses the premium Blu-ray player market by bringing together the best-in-class Blu-ray decoding solution (SMP8644 Secure Media Processor™) and the best-in-class video post-processing solution (GF9452 VXP® Video Processor).

The Blu-ray 8642 reference design is derived from the experience of enabling most of the first Blu-ray players to market. It enables the rapid production of a mainstream Blu-ray player that also supports BD-RE, BD-R, AVCHD, DVD, and CD playback.

Using production hardware from a Blu-ray player ODM, the Blu-ray 8642-ODM software development kit enables the rapid software design of a Blu-ray player. A variety of ODM players using different Blu-ray loader and drive designs are available.
We offer, and provide the support for, a complete Blu-ray player software stack that is designed to quickly and easily enable our customers to add additional features. Our Blu-ray player software stack has passed the BDA Verification Test, ensuring customer's players can easily pass the Verification Test.
