Powerful audio processing handles all standard audio formats, including DTS-HD MA 7.1 decoding for Blu-ray players. The Secure Media Processor architecture is designed to protect premium content and support a wide variety of DRM and conditional access solutions. The SMP8640 Series is ideal for IPTV set-top boxes, Blu-ray players, and Tru2way cable set-top boxes.
- The SMP8630 Series represents the first single-chip solution to support high-definition MPEG-4.10 (H.264), SMPTE 421M (VC-1) and MPEG-4/-2/-1 decoding, handling the advanced requirements of MSTV IPTV set-top boxes and Blu-ray players/recorders. The new Secure Media Processor architecture is designed to protect premium content and support a wide variety of DRM and conditional access solutions. The SMP8630 Series is ideal for digital media adapters, IPTV set-top boxes, digital televisions, and Blu-ray players/recorders.
- The EM8620L Series represents the first high-definition (HD) Windows Media® 9 decoder silicon solution and also supports DVD and HD MPEG-4.2 and MPEG-2 decoding. Later versions of the silicon also support MPEG-4.10 (H.264) and SMPTE 421M (VC-1). The EM8620L Series is ideal for digital media adapters, IPTV set-top boxes, networked DVD players, portable media players and digital televisions.
- The EM8610 Series was the first HDTV decoder silicon solution to also support MPEG-4.2 and IPTV. Designed for HDTVs and advanced set-top boxes, they also offered advanced audio/video processing and progressive DVD playback. The software-compatible EM8610L Series addressed the more cost-sensitive SDTV market.
- The EM8500 Series was the first solution for DVD players to support MPEG-4.2 and DivX™. It was also the first to feature high-quality scaling to HDTV resolutions and support for DVI. The unique features of the EM8500 Series enabled the availability of portable media players, networked DVD players and low-cost digital media adapters.
- The EM8400 Series provided MPEG-4, -2 and -1 video and audio decoding for broadband interactive set-top boxes, including products from Fujitsu-Siemens, Acer and Samsung. The EM8400 Series represented one of the first MPEG-4.2 silicon solutions for the set-top box market.
- The original EM8220 provided MPEG-2 and -1 video decoding solutions for PC-based DVD playback and streaming video, which won wide acclaim as the top MPEG hardware for the PC, and included retail offerings by Creative Labs, Sony and Panasonic.
VXP® Image Processors
